More specifically, I’m in the process of rebranding and I figured it’s about time I tell you.

I have been aware that this needed to happen for probably 2 years now (yeah, like a couple months after I started blogging) and something I have been working actively on since late spring.

Well, believe it or not, I’m not the only one with a blog named, The Sweet Life. As a true testimony to how absolutely clueless I was when I started blogging, I picked the first name I liked. Not believing any one else would ever read this blog, it wasn’t a big deal when the URL wasn’t available (big surprise) so I came up with a URL that “worked”.

It didn’t work.

It is a total nightmare to have a blog name that’s different from the URL, especially when the web address sounds like something that came out of 1995 (you know, right alongside AOL). Then there’s the people who think my blog’s name is The Sweet Life Online (can I blame them?) and when I hear or see it called that I shudder inside. Really, I do.

There is also the whole social media problem. I also wasn’t the first person on Twitter or Instagram who thought The Sweet Life was clever. In fact, there are hundreds of people who have found variations of The Sweet Life for their social media accounts and somehow I ended up with my Twitter handle “sweetlifevegan” and an Instagram name “thesweetvegan” that not only don’t match but are different than both my blog name and URL. And I was definitely not going to repeat the mistake and call myself @thesweetlifeonline. Shudder.

As this blog grew it became more and more clear that this was a problem and something needed to be done.

I share this news with equal amounts of excitement and trepidation. The unknown of a change this big worries me. However, the fact that soon I will go by one singular name thrills me!  I tossed and turned for days trying to come up with an original name that was clever, cute, and most importantly, NOT TAKEN. Seriously it kept me up at night.

What is this new name?

When my daughter was less than a week old I made up a song that I started singing to put her to sleep.

“go to sleep, my little darling”

I still sing her this song and among the many names she goes by, darling has always been one of them. Eden saved my life the day I found out I was pregnant with her (I hope someday to get the chance to tell you that story). In the moment that I met her I became a better and more complete version of myself. And if it wasn’t for her, I would never have started blogging.

It only seems fitting that I would name this blogging journey for her.

Over the past couple months, while things have been slightly quieter over here, I have been designing this  new site (and loving the way it looks!) with the plan to relaunch September 1st. All links will be redirected. You will find everything that’s here over there. And if you follow me on any social media platforms, subscribe via email, or keep up with me through Bloglovin‘, you’ll need to do nothing different to continue getting updates.

But in the meantime, I’ll still be posting over here. I have my first Raising Vegans post coming this Friday as well as some brand new recipes awaiting their finishing touches. I will keep you all updated to make sure the word gets spread far and wide and please let me know if you have any questions about this transition.

Okay, once I hit publish, there’s no going back.
please tell me not to be worried…
